I am a Hypnotherapist of some repute and I have been interested in this area for over 40 years now.
I was recently asked by my publishing team to review a course that they had found on the internet. They were doing research for me and they wanted to know my thoughts. I dragged my heals as I always do but then I agreed and put a day aside to conduct my trial of this book.
Although I dont review many of other peoples material, when I do I like to be thorough and so I got to work.
So, it was with this background that I began my review of this new course.
Having now reviewed the course, I have to say that I could now see what all the fuss was about. I was a bit frustrated at my lack of ability to be overly critical in many areas but this just symbolised how strong this work really was (or should I say is).
I went to the site where this book was located and I first read the sales letter. I was quite impressed - I normally see a letter which is 5 blocks long and in this case it was much more succinct and I got through the text in about 5 or 6 minutes. There were some valuable free gifts on offer and the author (John Hill) was obviously skilled in the knowledge of his craft - I could tell by how he had thoughtfully collected his comments on his sales page. It was interesting to find that the free gifts were actually gifts that I thought people would want - 'Positive Thinking and Self Talk Tactics', 'Alternative Medicine' and 'Using NLP on Ebay'. Mmmmmm - I could see some people buying the course just to get the free gifts - that is quite refreshing.
John Hill is the author of both the book and I suppose the site and he seems like a very accomplished Hypnotherapist and NLP Professional and this was a good sign.
The testimonials on the site looked real and I sent him a message asking to see a copy of these, by return email. It took a day but I could see that they were in fact true original testimonials and that is always a positive sign for me.
It was obvious reading the letter that John was passionate about the subject and I could identify with this. I dont like dealing with people with no passion.
It seemed that John Hill was pitching his course at both beginners and existing professionals - now this is not easy to do as the two sets of people are at different ends of the experience spectrum - "this would be interesting" I thought.
I then noticed that John had a 100% guarantee - well that would not be there unless his belief in his product was unshakeable so things were indeed looking up.
I decided to purchase the course and I was a bit startled at the cost - only $57 - I havent paid less that $1,000 for a course before - I am only interested normally in top quality material - after all I am a professional. You wouldn't expect Bono to sing from a microphone that had been purchased for $10 from Walmart would you ?
The course was sent to me by pdf quickly and this was what I had expected to be honest.
The first thing that hit me was how well the book was laid out. it has 110 pages and is split into 15 very well thought out chapters. Even the History of Hypnosis was covered. Nice ! There were specific directions into several of the most common interventions and that is not normally covered in a book of this cost.
One area that pleased me also was the standard and relevance of the pictures and illustrations. As I progressed through the course, I experienced a complete shock - I came to the reference of 'Hypno Sleep'. Now I knew that this was a very little known hypnotherpy secret which was invented many years ago by a famous hypnotherpist and clinical doctor - Dave Elman. This is a real gem and the book price is worth it for this element alone - try asking an established Hypnotherpist to see if he knows the name Hypno Sleep - not many do.
It took me a few hours to go through the whole book and overall I found it very well researched, beautifully illustrated and put forward in an easy to understand manner. In the interests of providing some balance to this review, I must admit that there is a negative element to my findings of this hypnotherapy course.
The only area that I could criticize is on the aspect of price and that is not a thing you should be worried about really, or at least not yet. I was of the opinion that John Hill should be charging at least $597 for this course, after all I have courses for sale with less in them than this one for over $1,000 so I know what I am talking about.
I am considering selling this product to my own customers but I would not even dare to approach them at the existing price and it is my intention to contact John over the coming weeks to mention this. I think that many people will value material by the amount of money that it costs and this is just a fact of life.
so, what do I recommend? To you I recommend that you buy this course whatever its price - it really is a good example of how to get into hypnosis or how to get better at it if you are already involved. To John, my recommendation is to drastically increase your price and $597 would be my recommended price.
Well done John hill for producing a really good base and intermediate (and advanced if you look at the Dave Elman stuff) work on the teachings of NLP and Hypnotherapy.
Overall Rating - 98%
My Value for Money Rating - Well over 100%
I hope this article helps you in some way and I am pleased to be of service.
